"Gardenia in shadow"- a dramatic study in contrasts, the chiaroscuro of pure white gardenia flowers blooming in a night garden! This is an unusual and mysterious gardenia, with dark undertones of patchouli, sandalwood, tonka, vanilla, musk and amber, still romantic and glamorous but with a quality of lost innocence. This was tricky to balance properly, so that the deep patchouli notes didn't overpower the delicate gardenia, but it works. Try layering with Rose Garden, Yasmeen, Scarlett Letter.
