Notes From the Perfumer, August 2010
I have set myself to a rather difficult olfactory challenge, to create a really unique fragrance with rose and vanilla that doesn't smell like grandmother's powder - practically impossible but after 2 months I think I have done it. I experimented with deep wood notes like cedar, citruses, mosses, pines, even patchouli (which I am so tired of), finally coming up with an unusual blend of Arabian rose, rich French vanilla, and strange smoky notes such as juniper and frankincense. One friend describes it as burning rose petals over creme brulee. I find it mysterious and eternally feminine- it brings to mind the stone faces of goddesses in ancient temples swirled in the smoke of burnt offerings. I have named it Rose of Babylon, and it is available on the House Blends page for $40 per quarter oz.
We also have many new soaps (Aloe, Blackberry-Sage and Oatmeal),and a new scentable Smooth Shave Cream (available on the Body Products page)- more organic body products to come in the fall season.
